ShopMissA Haul and Review!

Hello hello I am back with another review for you all! This time, on products I found on ShopMissA.com. Now for those who aren't familiar with the site, ShopMissA sells cosmetics, jewelry and accessories for $1.00 USD! (That's about $1.37 CAD for my Canadian ladies). I first heard about this website thanks to Laura Lee's video on her testing out their products to create a face using $1 makeup and I thought "wow, some of these products look interesting". So, I took it upon myself to make a purchase and try out the makeup! So let's get into it!

Review: Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette

Hello, it's me. And a big Happy New Year from myself! It's been a while since I posted something new here but don't be alarmed, I'm back and this first blog for 2017 is something that I've been dying for since last year (no seriously, it's been a hot year).

Sexy. Warm. Iconic. Modern. Renaissance. Palette. I have been dying to play around with warmer toned colours, yet when you're Canadian, a student, and balling on a budget, it's really hard to get my hands on Morphe or Violet Voss palettes without breaking my bank. However, Christmas was really good to me and thanks to my bf's mom, I was able to purchase the Modern Renaissance Palette by ABH.

This is, without a doubt, the MOST raved about palette on the internet from huge beauty gurus such as Laura Lee, MannyMUA, and the queen herself Jeffree Star. With all of the hype I knew I had to get my hands on it and as soon as I did that first swatch in Sephora, it was love at first sight.

The MR palette consists of 14 warm toned shades ranging from nudes to berry tones. There are 6 shimmer shades and 8 matte shades and each shade screams pigmentation. Let's dive into these shades a little deeper.

Tempera is a light vanilla shade with a little hint of shimmer in it. It's perfect for the brow bone or inner corner highlight. Golden Ochre is a beige, almost khaki colour with shimmers in it. For my skin tone, it's a good all over lid shade. Raw Sienna is a matte tan colour which makes for the perfect transition colour for the crease. Burnt Orange is a matte brown shade with orange undertones.

Vermeer is a shimmery champagne light pink shade that is gorgeous for a pop on the centre lid. Primavera, which is the most shimmery shade in the palette is the perfect gold colour. It's almost like a foiled eyeshadow. Buon Fresco is a matte light mauve colour that can be used in the crease or all over the lid, but of course you are never limited to where you put your shadows. Red Ochre is a beautiful matte maroon colour that is one of the stars of the palette. It is a really unique shade and I can say that I definitely don't own anything remarkably close to this colour in my collection until this palette.

Antique Bronze is a warm bronze colour with rose gold shimmers in it. Love Letter is a beautiful matte magenta shade. Venetian Red is a shimmery maroon shade with pink undertones to it. It is again another star of the palette and a very unique shade. Warm taupe is very self explanatory, a matte warm taupe shade.

The final 2 colours in the palette are Cyprus Umber, a matte warm chocolate shade and Realgar, a warm matte burnt orange colour. I can definitely see Realgar being used in the crease a lot, and it is again another superstar in this palette being a very unique shade.

The palette also comes with a dual-ended travel sized brush. One end is a lid packer side while the other is a blending side. I love these brushes because they are perfect to travel with.

And now, everyone's favourite part of the blog: SWATCHES!
Bottom to Top: Tempera, Golden Ochre, Vermeer, Buon Fresco, Antique Bronze, Love Letter, Cyprus Umber
This is the top row of colours. The only shade that didn't swatch that well for me was Love Letter, however the shade is being compared to every other shade that was highly pigmented to swatch on the first try. Love Letter was layered on once to get the colour on the swatch, however it is still a beautiful colour.

Bottom to Top: Raw Sienna, Burnt Orange, Primavera, Red Ochre, Venetian Red, Warm Taupe, Realgar
The bottom row absolutely SLAYED MY LIFE. I'm absolutely SHOOK at how pigmented all of the shade are in this row and how well they swatched. Each of these shades are smooth and buttery and just so damn beautiful!

My final thoughts? Thank you, ABH for slaying my life and giving the world yet another amazing product. ABH has been stepping up in the beauty world. They are not only globally known for their brow products, but have proved that they are killing the highlight AND the eyeshadow game. So for that, I thank them, and bow down to them.

If you have the ABHMD palette, what are your thoughts on it?
